Fellow Orang Seputeh,
We have always been warning ladies walking along the roads to beware of snatch thieves at night.
Now they are bold enough to strike in the mornings -- this morning.
An office worker on the way to Mid Valley had her handbag snatched by two men on a motorcycle near the U-turn outside Japan Club. The thieves simply jumped the divider and went across into the Mid Valley ring road to make good their escape.
She did not resist and the culprits just sped off.
Of course, she lodged a report and became a statistic. What else can the police do?
They can increase patrols and put men in mufti or even send unmarked cars but the menace remains.
Isn't it time to take a pro-active stance? Perhaps, a neighbourhood watch? Paid security? Unpaid security (if there is such a thing as a free lunch, come and show me). More lip-service? More debate? Soft whispers on terraces or corridors?
Or, let it be and don't do anything?
Think, fellow Orang Seputeh, think deep and hard.
Best regards,
Orang Seputeh

How about installing CCTV at some strategic places in Seputeh. For a start we can install some real & some fake CCTV. The crooks can't differentiate which is real and which is fake. If it is too risky for them, they will just move their activities to other places.
Good to see a couple of Police Officers on duty today outside the service entrance to Sri Langit Condo.
They were stopping all motorcycles with a pillion rider.
Visible actions such as this as well as clandestine operations will hopefully act as a deterrent to potential snatch thieves and robbers.
Sadly, I have to report that on the very same day at around 7pm, a lady visitor who was driving up to Sri Langit, and was attempting to park her car, had her passenger window broken and her handbag snatched off the passenger seat by two thugs on a motorcycle.
They had obviously spotter their prey some moments earlier, and followed her until the opportune moment presented itself....so in conclusion unless there is a 24 hour police cover....no one is safe!!
