Raymond sends pictures of 7-Eleven signs

Fellow Seputeh residents,

This blog was created to spread awareness of security in Seputeh but Orang Seputeh cannot turn down a genuine call for help to publicise an annoying problem.

Resident Raymond sent an email with pictures showing the 7-Eleven signs blocking the pedestrian walkway:

Tell us what you think, folks.
Best regards,
Towards A More Secure Future
Orang Seputeh

I submitted these pictures, not because they represent a security issue, but they certainly represent a safety hazard. It is unbelievable than any right minded thinking person could plant the post right in the middle of the pavement. As you can see from the location, any position on either side of the pavement would have been adequate, and the 'signage' would have been equally prominent, and served it's purpose. Surely DBKL need to approve the placement of such adverts!

Maybe it's because I don't walk a lot so form my perspective, that post does not seem to be a big obstruction. It's not like it is so wide that people are forced to step around it onto the road and risk being run over.

As 2020 is fast approaching, I think the authorities need to wake up and take some action. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought pavements were for pedestrians, and no a convenient place to place an advertising sign post, when several other options are available.
I wonder how a disabled person in a wheelchair would cope, or a Mum pushing a toddler. The same goes for the barrier (upright metal posts) erected on the connecting road to MegaMall. Whilst I understand these were erected to prevent motorcyclist taking a 'short-cut' litte thought was given to the inconvenience cause to those less able or Mums with pushchairs
